Created in 2008, Cia Mungunzá de Teatro has been developing research focused on contemporary theater for ten years, where the organization, production and artistic creation is carried out by a group of 7 artists/educators who, in addition to theatrical productions, also propose permanent reflection about the social and cultural universe.
The Company always works with guest directors, which transforms each production into a "different aesthetic encounter". In its shows, the group strives for polyphony and hybridity of artistic languages, proposing staging as dramaturgy and the performance act as acting. They encourage artistic creation as a political and social practice.
Works: Epidemia Prata (2018), Poem Suspenso Para uma Cidade em Queda (2015), Era uma Era (2015), Luis Antonio - Gabriela (2011) and Why a Child Cooks in Polenta (2008).
The Company, in a decade, has already toured 19 of the 26 Brazilian states and performed in Coimbra (Portugal). His works were awarded in the State of São Paulo with the Shell Award, São Paulo Association of Art Critics Award (APCA), São Paulo Theater Cooperative Award and Governor of the State of São Paulo Award. In 2017, the Group conceived and built the Mungunzá Container Theater, a culture-theater-headquarters space, winner of the 2017 APCA Award and nominated for the 2017 Shell and Aplauso Brasil Awards.

SYNOPSIS
The show “Epidemia Prata” brings together two narrative lines: the actors' personal vision of the real characters they met in their current residence in Cracolândia, and the Myth of Medusa, which transforms people into statues. Based on this motto, as the narrative unfolds, the actors gradually acquire the silver color until they are completely silver at the end of the show. Full of images and predominantly performative and kinesthetic, the SILVER universe, in the show, takes on an infinite number of connotations: its color is the color of crack stone when lit, its light brings brightness and the need to be seen by a society that ignores certain ghettos, their designation is indicative of wealth, money. Moving between these connotations, the actors perform a multitude of performances that deconstruct characters stigmatized by society and share the feeling of petrification in the face of everything.
